M.O.T.D: Galaxy eyes feat. BOBBI BROWN, Urban Decay, CLINIQUE, Smashbox & Givenchy

Hello again,

One of my go-to eye products for Summer has been creme shadows as they not only have amazing staying power but they add subtle vibrancy to the eyes, no matter what color eyes or shade of shadow. I wanted to feature the creme shadow in my M.O.T.D eyes and introduce an incredibly easy, wearable look that is perfect for everyone, and simple enough for beginners!

There are only a few steps to achieve this glowing eye look:

1.) Apply primer : I choose the Urban Decay Primer Potion, an old time favorite. This is an OPTIONAL step as creme shadows do not typically even need a primer base, but I choose to use a primer out of habit though I will be applying a powder- based shadow later on in the crease.

2.) Using a creme eye shadow brush (I choose to use the BOBBI BROWN creme shadow brush pictured above) or simply your finger tip, liberally apply the sparkiling creme shadow to your lid. I used the BOBBI BROWN creme shadow in Galaxy, hence the name “Galaxy eyes”. This color is stunning with its heather gray base decorated with silver/ purple sparkles, paralleling the natural shades of the Galactic sky.

3.) Next, using a crease shadow brush of your choosing (my favorite crease brush is the one produced by SMASHBOX, pictured below), lightly brush any mahogany or taupe colored shadow into your crease. For this step, I choose the Urban Decay shadow in Buck. This slight application of shadow will give you a very natural- looking depth to your overall look.

Tip: when applying the crease shadow, make a tiny circling motion with your brush~ this will help blend the shadow more naturally.

4.) To add a widening effect to your eye, take any kind of creamy white pencil~ I used the Urban Decay white 24 hr. glide- on pencil (see below)and line your lower- water line. Additionally (this is optional), you can line your upper-water line in a black pencil to add a visible thickness to your eyelashes~ I choose a simple CLINIQUE black pencil.

5.) Last step! Just add any mascara and curl lashes to finish off the look. My choice for mascara today was the GIVENCHY Nior Couture 4 in 1 mascara.

I find that this look is suitable for both day and night as it is just dramatic enough, yet subtle. It takes no more than a couple of minutes to achieve this look, so it is also great on-the-go.

~I’m finding a lot of inspiration this Summer with the time off, so stay tuned for more posts coming shortly~

See you guys soon and as always, thanks for stopping by!
