REVIEW: DIOR 5 Couleurs Couture Colour Eyeshadow Palette Transat Edition

Hey beautiful people!,

So last week was my birthday and I wanted to splurge on something really special and of course I choose (like any sensible person would) to go to the magical land of Sephora. I had my eye on the Dior 5 Couleurs Couture Colour Eyeshadow Palette Transat Edition for what seems like FOREVER, really it was only a couple weeks but still! I waited long enough (1st world problem I know).

The goddess of all makeup artists Lisa Eldridge first turned me onto this absolutely stunning palette, and before I even laid hands on the shadow, I knew it had to be of the highest quality. When planning to spend a good amount of money on one particular product, I make sure to look up as many reviews as possible to validate my purchase~ I mean, just because it’s a high-end brand, doesn’t mean it’s always going to work out, but OH MAN, this palette is insanely good.

I choose the SUNDECK shade palette out of the collection which is rich with bronzed, shimmery tones, ideal for both Summer and Fall. The real star of the SUNDECK is the incredibly pigmented tropical orange shadow in the center. I have never before seen a shadow that has such a fantastic formula. The color is spot on, bright as ever and I remember swatching this color in the store and being immediately amazed. Plus, the color lasts all day and all night, a very important criteria I look at when reviewing shadow.

The description given by Dior for this limited edition collection describes this pallete as having “a rope motif with five shadows layered in shimmer, iridescent, and satin finishes.” All of these cohesive shades can be used to create day and night looks as the colors can be paired in both natural and more dramatic combinations.

The packaging is also exceptional as the case is sturdy and decorated with the Dior seal. The limited edition palettes go for around $61~ definetely a splurge, but worth it. I love the SUNDECK so much that I am planning on getting the Atlantique 344 palette which is a cool- toned collection of shades that features both a bright and deep ocean blue.
