Happy Friday!,
I hope all of you guys have amazing plans for the weekend! As for me, I’m moving back to my college house so my life is a little crazy right now. I am so eager and excited to finish school~ I’m an upperclassman now and though I still have a year after this left, the time will fly by so I try to enjoy it.
This upcoming week I start my classes up again, so I decided to avoid any stress by posting my AUGUST FAVORITES now instead of finding time to rush through it between lectures.
I got to pick up a few really awesome items this month, so lets begin!
1.
GIVENCHY Palette Extravaganza Lip & Eye $66
I love a good pop of color, and one of the biggest makeup blowout colors of the year has been beautiful lavender and deep plum shades. This compact, intricately designed palette includes a rich plum brown, vibrant lilac, shimmery purple/gray sparkle, and an illuminating gold shade. Plus, Givenchy incorporated a smooth applying, berry lip as well which highly complement the satiny shadows.
Here is a look I recently did with this extravagant palette:
The shadows blend very easily and have a fairly nice pigment that can be layered. For a better look at the shades, here is a simple swatch of the four shadows:

LANCÔME: GRANDIÔSE – Wide-Angle Fan Effect Mascara $32
I was first drawn to this unique mascara because of its funky bent wand. I was wondering what the point of the shape was initially but when I first tried the mascara, I immediately saw its purpose. The slight bend perfectly curves around your nose preventing any smears of product you might get on your face during application.
Besides its smart, innovative wand design, the bristles really help define your lashes! One disappointing aspect of this mascara though, is its quick drying formula~ I find that it is a little bit harder to build product on the lashes because of this.
All in all though, a cool product with the best aspect of it being the wand.
3.
KAT VON D Tattoo Liner $18
So many people raved about this black liner pen that I just HAD to try it for myself. I normally use the MARC JACOBS felt tip pen but I always like to try something new every once in a while. This KAT VON D pen gives a long wearing line that is highly defined and precise. This pen is beyond easy to use and is brush tipped so it doesn’t seem to fray.
The price is fair for its quality and so far, I can’t really find any fault with this product!
Here is a close- up eye look I did with this product:
4.
KORRES BODY BUTTER $29
I’m always looking for a good lotion, and I think I’ve found my favorite yet. This month, I picked up the KORRES body butter in Basil Lemon and fell in love. I gravitate towards the more herbal, natural scents and this particular lotion is exactly what I needed.
KORRES formulates its lotions without:
– Parabens
– Sulfates
– Synthetic Dyes
– Petrochemicals
– Phthalates
– GMOs
– Triclosan
(A great added bonus)
I find that the lotion itself sinks into the skin smoothly and really leaves you with a calming, soft feeling. It’s deeply moisturizing and a great daily lotion for overall skin health.
5.
LORAC PRO PALETTE 2 $42
You may have seen that I devoted a whole post to this gem~ I’ll link it here
If you are at all curious about why this product gets so much attention, read that link- I explain it’s magic plus include a few looks created with the palette!
6.
PSSSST! Instant Dry Shampoo $6
A good dry shampoo is a MUST HAVE in my hair kit. PSSSST! really does the trick at getting all that unwanted grease out while not leaving a starchy residue. My favorite aspect about this product is it doesn’t make your hair gray or white like some dry shampoos do.
Plus, this product is cheap so you can’t go wrong!
7.
KENRA SHINE SPRAY $18
I would consider KENRA Shine Spray one of my ultimate “Holy Grail” items, yet for some reason I’ve never included it in a “Favorites” post. I think I’m going to create a separate posting about other “Holy Grail” items in the future, but for now let’s talk about this KENRA gem.
This Shine spray does its job and it does it well. A lot of times when I use texturizing products or dry shampoos, I notice that my hair can become really starchy looking, and this shine spray completely eliminates that. Even days when I don’t use the other products, I still choose to incorporate this spray into my everyday routine. It just bumps your hair up to the next level, making it look glossy and healthy. I honestly haven’t gone one day without it!
Well that wraps it up for AUGUST! Hope everyone is enjoying the last couple warm weeks of the Summer. Stay tuned for that “Holy Grail” post coming up in the near future!
Thanks for stopping by!,
