REVIEW: Yves Saint Laurent LA LAQUE COUTURE Nail Lacquer

Hello lovely people!,

If you haven’t already noticed, I have a huge obsession with Yves Saint Laurent (and that’s putting it lightly). Almost every product I’ve tried from Saint Laurent has been absolutely perfect in every way and as soon as I discovered that YSL has a dynamic collection of nail lacquers, I immediately had to get them a try.

Yves Saint Laurent can do very little wrong in my eyes so I was not surprised that I fell in love with YSL’s concentrated nail polish collection. Launched by Yves Saint Laurent’s International Creative Director of Beauty, Lloyd Simmonds, these glorious polishes are intensely pigmented, full of shine and staying power.

The colors are beyond mesmerizing, I mean, just take a look:

You only need one coat- ONE COAT! – to get the full color effect, and though these polishes are pricer at $27 a bottle, you’ll end up using a lot less of the product during application. These YSL nail laquers are the ultimate investment product as they last practically forever and give an amazing desired result.

Application is one of the greatest aspects of this polish (other than the flawless colors), as the brush in shaped to easily glide onto the natural shape of your nail. The polish itself (for me) lasted a couple days without chipping, though note, I added a protective shine layer to extend its lasting formula.

The casing is just as commendable, packaged in a shiny, clear bottle with a golden cap that pops off to reveal an underlaying twist off~ YSL is always a perfectionist when it comes to its packaging and you can really tell~

I have tried many high- end nail polishes including Chanel, Dior, Marc Jacobs and NARS, but honestly, nothing can compare to the immense quality, polished performance of YSL.

Here is a close up of one of my favorite YSL lacquers in 18 Bleu Majorelle (Peacock Blue):

There was no editing done to this photo: the color is actually that pigmented and shiny! Here is another one of my favorite shades from YSL called 9 Fuchsia Intemporel (Intense Pink Fuschica)

Between the color payoff and sparkling shine, these Saint Laurent polishes get my 100 percent approval. A great buy.

  1. I actually tried one of these and I was really disappointed.. It started to flake after about 1-2 days 😦 Btw, Nice blog! How about we follow each other? 🙂

    1. Oh no! Just like with any polish, flaking can occur but if you apply a solid protective finish, it should last a little longer. I like to use Butter London Top Coat whenever I do my nails for extra protection.

The real stars of these YSL laquers though is the ultra pigment and shine (as well as I find the brush to be better than most I’ve tried).

I would give them another shot! 😀 (and try the Butter London Top Coat!)
P.s Thank you for liking my blog ❤

  2. one coat?!?! That is an amazing amount of coverage for one coat of polish! Beautiful colour range as well! Did you use a base coat at all or did that go directly onto your nails? Very impressed 🙂 xx
