Hiya!,
It’s 1 a.m. on a Saturday and I finally have a bit of time to write to you lovely people again. The past few weeks have been crazy busy but as always, you have to find time for yourself. I realized the other day that I never mentioned my “go-to” body scrub recipe that is 100 percent natural and 100 percent effective.
I actually found this little DIY on the Free People blog ( http://blog.freepeople.com ) awhile ago and have been using the recipe ever since. The great thing about this incredibly simple body scrub is it is cheap, natural, and an amazing all-over exfoliant.
So here is all you need:
4 tablespoons granulated sugar
2 tablespoons olive oil (or another natural oil such as Sesame oil)
1 drop essential oil of your choice
What to do:
Mix the measured contents into a jar and stir. That’s it! The sugar acts as a natural exfoliant that works cohesively with the oil, deeply moisturizing your skin.
Essential oils add a touch of scent to the body scrub as well as provide other, greater benefits depending on the oil you choose. For instance, I normally go for a classic lavender oil, which not only smells heavenly but scientifically reduces the level of stress hormones in your blood.
Other oils, such as a cool peppermint can intensify and purify your mind while Lemon oil can detoxify the body, reducing acne on the skin. All essential oils prove some purpose, so select one that not only smells to your liking but one that caters to your personal health needs.
This scrub works on any part of your body and can be used anytime~ it doesn’t always have to be in the shower. I usually keep a little jar of the scrub next to my sink so whenever I wash my hands, I can exfoliate them too. You will not believe how smooth your skin will be after application, it’s pretty extraordinary.
Let me know if you get a chance to try this DIY out and send me any of your favorite natural recipes my way!
