Hello beautiful people,
Today I wanted to give a brief review of the very popular Chanel ILLUSION D’OMBRE long wear eyeshadows that I have finally gotten my hands on. These silky shadows have been on my “to get” list for far too long and now they have finally adorned my makeup table. I’ve made this review as organized as possible, rating the shadows on specific criteria shown below.
Enjoy!
COLOR VARIETY:
The ILLUSION D’OMBRE collection comes in 11 dynamic shades, all extremely shimmery. If you’re a matte- exclusive person, these shadows are not for you. The shades range from the very illuminating 81 Fantasme shade (bottom right) to the intense black- pearl 85 Mirifique color. My personal favorite is 84 Épitant, a stone shimmer with a slight green tint, and 91 Apparition, a deep, ocean blue (both shown below).
7/10
PIGMINTATION:
As far as pigmentation, these shadows are meant to be a show-stopper. Though they come on slightly sheer, they are extremely build-able. Additionally, they are intensely shimmery and noticeably catch the light.
Here is a swatch of my two favorite colors, mentioned above for reference.
8.5/10
LASTING- POWER:
As far as I have found, these eyeshadows stay for quite a long time. They are made out out a gel- like creme texture, and overall, creme shadows tend to last longer than powders.
8/10
APPLICATION:
very easy to apply, whether it be with a creme shadow brush or simply your finger. Incredibly bendable and build-able as well.
9/10
PACKAGING:
The ILLUSION D’OMBREs come in a tiny box with a small applicator brush. Inside, is a small, circular jar with the iconic Chanel logo, holding the creme shadow. Cute, compact, and classy.
9/10
PRICE:
$36 – on the pricer side, but the overall quality is above average.
Here are some shots right oft Chanel runway using the ILLUSION D’OMBRE. All in all, a great product- I would give it a solid 8.5/10 rating. I’m looking to collect all 11!
That’s all for now!
Stop by soon,
Definitely on the pricier side but quality! The swatches look amazing! Especially that dark blue one! x
yeah, they are pricy but definitely investment products 🙂
