Little lux: stocking stuffers

Are you merry & bright yet? …are you, ARE YOU? I know I will be after Tuesday when I’m finished with finals, but for now, I can only dream of holiday freedom full of pretty silver bows and happy faces.

Ok, so I’m sure you have already done some holiday shopping already, but what about those stocking stuffers? Everyone deserves a little luxury in their lives and if you are shopping for a beauty lover or someone who is just interested to dive into the wonders of makeup, I have made a tiny list of my favorite, small luxury products that won’t completely make your wallet cry. So let’s get on with it, shall we?

This little pot of beautiful, glittery cream is a spectacular shadow with a glowing, super- pigmented shine, packaged in a dainty Chanel jar. The shadows come in 13 dimensional shades and are fairly long lasting. I have personally purchased several of these gems and can honestly say, they are some of my favorite shadows to use (and that says a lot, believe me).

2.) Givenchy Ange Ou Demon Le Secret Eau de Parfum Travel Spray ($25)

Want to smell like me? … hmm, not my best introduction but this new Givenchy scent has been misted on my skin constantly for the past month. This scent has a Jasmine tea base with a hint of delicate, sweet florals. I normally go for more of a rustic scent, but I can’t pass how luscious Ange ou démon is. A nice, travel size perfume is ideal to carry around in a bag and the price is not half bad too.

3.) Elizabeth and James: Nirvana White Dry Shampoo ($28)

This is one of those products that you only really get once in a while as a luxury gift. Everyone uses dry shampoo at some point and this fancy NIRVANA- scented bottle does the job in style. I love the NIRVANA perfume itself so when I heard E&J where making a dry shampoo, I totally bought into the hype. The only difference is that usually with a hype comes a disappointing product, but like I just wrote, this dry shampoo actually works. Plus, the packing is so simple yet gives off the impression of a particularly expensive (yet somewhat affordable) product.

4.) Diptyque mini candles ($35)

So Diptyque, as a whole, seems to be quite overpriced for being an exclusive candle company, but I have to say, these candles are AMAZING with an unreal level ofquality and heavily aroma. To test out the magic of Diptyque for yourself (or a loved one), you can start with a mini candle, perfect for the stocking.

5.) Yves Saint Laurent LA LAQUE COUTURE Nail Lacquer ($27)

I’ve written about the magic of Saint Laurent nail lacquer in several posts- from the lasting, high definition pigment, amazing shine and ridiculously classy packaging, you really can not go wrong with this gem. Sure, $27 is quite high for a nail polish but this is not just an ordinary nail polish! See for yourself! Might I recommend the very seasonal gold color DORE ORFEVRE (29)? It has a subtle sparkle too, making nails look like they were dipped in pure, genuine gold.

6.) Caudalie: Beauty Elixir ($18)

Now for something everyone can use, a toner!  This fresh, beauty elixir is ideal for any skincare routine and is actually inspired by Queen Isabelle of Hungary’s famous elixir of youth… how fancy. As my idol and celebrity makeup guru Lisa Eldridge voices:

“I love Caudalie’s Beauty Elixir. I especially like their little one to keep in my handbag—brilliant for traveling. It has quite a lot of essential oils in it, so what I like to do is spray it on my hands and rub them together, then breathe it in. It just smells so amazing and uplifting. And then, I just pat it on my skin. It freshens your makeup.”

7.) Aēsop Coriander Seed Body Cleanser ($25)

Aēsop consistently concocts the most fabulous, natural skin and body care products. This Coriander seed body wash is formulated for every skin type and has an “unorthodox scent derived from the oils of crushed Coriander Seeds and Black Peppercorns” that wakens the skin. I honestly love everything Aēsop creates, like I say a million times… you can not go wrong.

There you have it! My top picks for a lux holiday… and yes, a little pricier than your average product but every once in a while, you have to treat your loved ones (or yourself 😉 ). Anyways, I hope everyone has a glorious holiday filled with love and celebration.

Write to you soon, beautiful!

  1. Hi. I am Amanda. I have a blog at word press too. Can you visit my blog please. I have only read a few of your blogs, but they are awesome. Also, I just started and only have a few likes. Would you give me some tips on how to get more people to look at my blog. Also, can you suggest a concealer please? Thank you so much.

    1. Thanks, Amanda! I think the best thing to do is to create content consistantly- the more posts you make, the wider the audience! Also, you can try sharing your posts on your personal social media sites- Facebook is particularly successful in this way. As far as product goes, I wrote a post a few weeks back devoted to the best concealers for tired eyes, you should check it out! Lately though, I have been loving Urban Decay’s NAKED concealer- it has been my most recent concealer purchase and has served me well. Thanks for visiting and best of luck on your blog!
      XX, Jax
