Crazy- Good High-end Lip Picks: Spring 2016

I officially have three weeks until I graduate from my university and needless to say, I am crammed with work and struggling with the ongoing battle to do said work with my impending HBO Go addiction. I just got done watching the series six premiere of Game of Thrones by the way, and not surprisingly, it was amazing.

Anyways, I digress. Tonight I wanted to briefly share some of the crazy- good lip products I have been religiously using lately. There are so many new launches as of late with more advanced, hydrating formulas, so it is hard to narrow down my latest favorites. With that said though, I have chosen five, key winners that are sure to make your lips lush, plump and beautiful… enjoy!

1.) Lancôme: Juicy Shaker- Pigment Infused Bi- Phased Lip Oil ($21)

If you haven’t heard about this little gem, you are missing out… BIG TIME. I immediately was drawn to this product from the sheer uniqueness of the packaging, looking like a mini martini shaker with a shiny, metal cap. The “Juicy Shaker,” as it is called, is formulated with five nourishing oils (Peach Kernal, Sweet Almond, Cranberry & Muscat Rose) that treats your lips like a lip balm. The oils are separated by a natural pigment that when shaken, mixes to form an airy, plush tint onto the lips. I especially love the applicator, which is a soft, pillowy sponge that glides effortlessly onto the lips. “Juicy Shaker” comes in 20 different tints, suited for all skin tones and is available now in stores or online.

 

2.) TOM FORD: Moisuturecore Lip color ($55)

TOM FORD needs no introduction as his products speak for themselves. Have I ever bought a sub-par TOM FORD lipstick? No. Never. TOM FORD’s new “Moisturecore” formula is like wearing pure silk on your lips. The formula is enriched with passion fruit oil that works to create to luxurious moisture and pigment. Lips are additionally conditioned with an exotic blend of melon fruit extract, murumuru butter, and plant-derived esters. The color additionally lasts a good amount of time and the packaging is sleek and modern, with a gorgeous gold detail. The only down- side to this collection is that there are only six colors available, all nude tints, but each equally stunning.

 

3.) CHANEL: ROUGE COCO STYLO ($37)

I have been noticing a serious trend of brands including natural extracts to enhance its products. CHANEL is no different, offering an innovative formula with nourishing Apple Seed Extract, hydrating Jojoba Oil and Coconut Oil. These enrichments allow for one of the most heavenly products on the market with a natural pigment that lasts. Additionally, these “stylo” pens make for easy application, marked with the iconic CHANEL logo. Available in seven other complementary colors, these little treasures are truly luxurious and worth every penny (and that’s a lot of pennies).

 

4.) DIOR: Addict Ultra- Gloss ($30)

 

If you haven’t seen the Jennifer Lawrence Dior gloss ads, I am honestly shocked because they seem to be everywhere. DIOR is really pushing its new formula, which is light- weight and like the name says, ultra- glossy. I especially like the brush applicator, which is soft and very easy to use. Plus, the gloss is not sticky at all, which is so rare – Finally, I am not getting my hair stuck on my glossy lips while I’m walking on a windy day! The gloss itself is very shiny but wearable with amazing hydration. A fantastic product all around.

5.)  Fresh: Sugar Lip Treatment Sunscreen SPF 15 ($24)

Again, here is a product infused with several reparative oils and waxes including grapes polyphenols, black current oil and vitamins A, C and E. What is unique about this product is that it is also formulated with real sugar, which helps to naturally exfoliate and moisturize the lips. Whenever I use this product, my lips feel so smooth and healthy all day. I started to use this in the colder winter months when my lips were incredibly dry and I have noticed how considerably this lip treatment helped my situation. The tint this product gives off is very youthful, with a natural, moisturized pigment. Fresh is one of the brands that can do no wrong in my eyes, and this product is no exception.
